and imaginary, they've seen in television and movies. it's part of a new destination category called icons, and includes a floating house from the animated pixar movie up and the house featured in prince's classic film purple rain. the full list is available today on the airbnb website and app. new experiences are released through the year. >> a crackdown on a pro-palestinian encampment sparks tension on ucla's campus. now dozens are under arrest. we'll take a look at the developing situation that followed during an hours long standoff. >> then several arrests and vehicles recovered. the new data from one east bay city that's using license plate readers to fight back against crime. >> plus, heartbreak for some teenagers in contra costa county. the devastating blow for swimmers at acalanes high school ahead of the most crucial meet of the year. >> live from jack london square.
9:01 am
this is morning time two. >> the night and good morning. >> today is thursday, may 2nd. we're looking live at san francisco's richmond district. allow me to be self-serving and say that mornings on two zip trip will be there sometime this summer. that's just a little tease. i just see that now and i think, okay, i've got to get out there and eat some food. but i digress. we want to get out to breaking news in oakland, where there was some sort of gunfire involving a suspect seating speeding on city streets. >> there's a large police presence in east oakland. multiple blocks are shut down. squad cars, lots of crime tape. >> yeah. ktvu reporter allie rasmus joins us live near bishop o'dowd high school with details on the story. allie >> yes? we can confirm there was a shooting and a crash. the good news, though, is that there are no reports of anyone being injured in either of those two things. but you can see the aftermath of all this behind us. this is cherokee avenue near 98th avenue. we're about a half a block away from bishop o'dowd high school. and this is where around 745 this morning, a woman in her 13 year old daughter
9:02 am
pulled into this street to head to school. not bishop o'dowd, but a charter middle school that's down the street here. when the driver of this black sedan crashed right into them, flipping their suv on its side. now, after the crash, the woman told her family, whom we spoke with, that she heard a barrage of gunfire. neighbors who live nearby say they heard dozens of shots before and then after the crash. it's not clear whether the people in the black car were shooting at another vehicle or shooting from the vehicle at someone or something else, but the car was speeding down cherokee avenue when it smacked right into the woman who had turned in to the cul de sac to take her daughter to school. luckily, the mother and daughter were able to walk away from this crash unharmed. here's what the grandmother told us her daughter and granddaughter said about what happened. >> she's bringing the daughter to school and, they turn in like normal because this is one way. but another car was coming, and hit their car high speed, they were shooting and so she tried
9:03 am
to get after this is after the accident. they were still shooting. i feel blessed that nothing wrong with them. >> now we've reached out to oakland police for more information and more details about what happened beyond what we can see here, but we can tell you that there's several blocks of cherokee avenue near 98th that are closed off for the police investigation. we've seen officers going through and appearing to look at and pick up what may be shell casings involved in this shooting. again, the good news, no reports of anyone actually hit by the gunfire, at least not as far as we know. the woman who was involved in the crash, who was hit by the speeding vehicle, she and her 13 year old daughter were okay, and a lot of the neighbors and people we've talked to out here say it's miraculous that no one was hurt, given the dozens of bullets and gunfire that they heard. when this all happened at 745, when a lot of folks are taking their kids to school, there's the francophone charter school a couple blocks down and bishop o'dowd high school right around
9:04 am
the corner. so a lot of neighbors and people here saying that they're pretty grateful that this couldn't, that this wasn't worse with all that gunfire that was happening here at around 745 this morning, when a lot of people are walking through this neighborhood, live in oakland. ali rasmus, ktvu, fox two news. >> ali, thank you. let's go across the bay and update breaking news. we just brought you minutes ago in san francisco. firefighters are at the scene of a fire at jackson and leavenworth. this is south of broadway, a few blocks north of grace cathedral, not far from the san francisco cable car museum. we have some video posted by the san francisco fire department on social media show. smoke and flames coming from the roof of the building. now, initially, we reported that nearby cable car service was interrupted in both directions. there is an improvement. muni now says it is rerouting the powell-hyde cable car line to the powell mason line. because of the fire in the area of jackson between leavenworth and jones, people are being urged to steer clear of the area. nearby. cable car service is interrupted . no word yet on any injuries,
9:05 am
and we don't yet know how this fire started. >> now to that still developing story. protests at college campuses throughout the country, authorities dismantling the encampment at ucla early this morning, los angeles police sheriff's office and the chp broke down the justice for palestine encampment and arrested more than 100 people. ktvu james torres is live at uc berkeley, where so-called tintin remains active at this hour. organizers closely watching developments from elsewhere. james >> no doubt about that. andre, good morning to you. here you certainly can see the demonstration behind me a lot larger than what it looked like day one about a week ago. so many more tents. and then there's this table barricade here that they've put out since yesterday afternoon. now, some of the protesters here a lot of them say they're not allowed to speak on camera. that's kind of what they've agreed on amongst themselves. but they have talked to me off camera telling me that they're on high alert this morning and for pretty much the remainder of the day, because they said that they've heard of threats from people against their costs. now, uc berkeley police did say that there was a
9:06 am
small fight around here yesterday in the late evening over a flag or two people were reported hurt. still something that was significantly less intense than what we saw overnight at ucla. officers. they're walking in at 3 a.m, shooting flashbangs tearing the encampment on campus apart. protesters immediately resisted, some appealing to fight back with pepper spray as officers moved in. some students stayed together, linking arms, holding pieces of plywood to try to hold those officers back. we're told more than 250 officers responded, all coming from different cities across the region. and those officers say a majority of the students did evacuate the area. but at this time, chp counted 132 arrested as a result, ucla student journalists report that number also includes faculty members. all of this because local police and the university deemed the demonstration unlawful. assembly we heard from a student this morning with her hands tied behind her back with zip ties, as police took her away.
9:07 am
>> it's not about me. it's about everybody. you know, if i have if i'm free, then what does that mean? if my brothers and sisters in palestine aren't free, it's for everybody. so free palestine. >> a chp spokesperson says those arrested were taken away on busses. they could face any number of charges, including failure to disperse, not obeying officer commands and trespassing . within the hour. we heard from president joe biden. he spoke. addressing the protests and clashes nationwide, he urged for a respect to free speech, but also warned about taking it too far. >> violent protest is not protected. peaceful protest is. it's against the law. when violence occurs, destroying property is not a peaceful protest. it's against the law. vandalism, trespassing, breaking windows, shutting down campuses, forcing the cancellation of classes and graduations. none of this is a peaceful protest. >> and we'll bring you back out here to uc berkeley, where there
9:08 am
was a report this morning out of the daily cal. that's the independent student run newspaper here that members of the people of this protest actually met with the university chancellor earlier this week to talk about some terms to come to an agreement to end this protest campaign, though it appears those negotiations haven't gone anywhere. we're live this morning from uc berkeley. i'm james torres. ktvu, fox two news. >> a bill is now headed to the us senate to expand the definition of anti-semitism. the house just approved the legislation that broadens the definition to include, quote, targeting of the state of israel. now, critics of the bill say it strips away free speech on college campuses. but the biden ministration says it remains committed to opposing anti-semitic speech. >> the president is being kept regularly updated on what's happening, as you just stated across the country. he is monitoring the situation closely. so is his team. and i would just add that no president, no president has
9:09 am
spoken more forcefully about combating anti-semitism than this president. >> supporters of the legislation say it provides a framework for the department of education to investigate cases of discrimination and intervene, if necessary. >> a report from the united nations predicts it may take more than 80 years to rebuild the thousands of homes destroyed during the israel-hamas war, after nearly seven months. bombings have caused billions of dollars in damage. palestinians say about 80,000 homes have been knocked down in that time, the report says a combination of the physical destruction and a rise in poverty can lead to an ongoing crisis for decades to come. >> happening today, a scuba dive boat captain is scheduled to be sentenced by a federal judge for his role in the 2019 boat fire that killed 34 passengers on board last year, captain jerry boylan was found guilty on one count of criminal negligence. he faces up to ten years behind bars. prosecutors claim boylan grossly failed to ensure safety
9:10 am
on board the ship. that fire marked the deadliest maritime disaster in recent u.s. history. the exact cause of the fire remains unknown. >> authorities say they've recovered a fifth body from the water following a bridge collapse in baltimore. they've identified the victim as miguel angel nunez gonzalez. he's one of the six construction workers on the francis scott key bridge when it collapsed five weeks ago. crews are searching for the body of one more victim, believed to be in the water. >> all right, let's turn things over to steve paulson. now he's tracking forecasts, you know, sets up for a nice couple of days, next couple of days. but the weekend is what you're going to be looking at here. that might be the problem steve. >> you know normally this time of year feet are on the desk playing candy crush. you know, nothing to talk about, but we do this time because it looks impressive for saturday. i know it will ruin your plans, but today looks good. andre is spot on with that. lots of sunshine, teeny bit of fog. come back to the coast saturday. rain and that will be a cold rain. we will take a look here. now. more importantly, it's to the right
9:11 am
here. the rainfall column temperatures are in, but these are the average highs for santa rosa. also san francisco, livermore, san jose. the rain falls, the key santa rosa an inch and a quarter. san francisco about three quarters. livermore, san jose a half inch. everything i'm seeing is showing that areas from about marin county, san pablo bay. south may get more rain on saturday than they normally get for the entire month of may. that's the way it's looking. we'll see if that changes tomorrow. i don't think so. rainfall amounts are going up with each run of the forecast models and the snow and the mountains. a foot and maybe two looks possible here. snow levels will plunge saturday night. we get nice weather today. some fog though has come back. a little bit of fog on the coast. and you know i've been talking about this all week long. the water temps are in unbelievably cold for early may 49 san francisco bowie temperature is 49. point raise is 49, 50 point arena is 49, so any temps in the upper 70s 80s inland. all that fog needs a little help and it forms
9:12 am
fast now. it's just patchy today, but i think tomorrow it will be a bigger deal. by far it's been racing down the coast, but inland it won't matter. temps are already bumping up 60s. maybe some near 70 but 50s 60s giving way to what looks to be 70s and 80s. although there's a lot of fog that's out there and i think it may play into our weather. a little bit of a sea breeze here for the city and much of the coast later today, if not already. for some active pattern, that's for sure. but instead of going into the pacific northwest, that big guy right there that's coming out of the gulf of alaska is going to sweep through here. it looks like rain starts saturday morning. today looks good. lots of sunshine, less sun, maybe a little bit of fog on the coast. and then tomorrow will be that in-between day. a cold system here with a half inch to an inch amount of rain here looks likely for many across the bay area today, though it will be a warm thursday if you're away from the coast. near the coast might be a smidge cooler, but it still looks good for all here. 60, 70, 80. tomorrow a lot more fog is on the way coast and bay. and then on saturday a cold rain sets up shop, some lingering into early sunday with a cold breezy pattern.
9:13 am
>> all right steve, thank you. the dining out experience follows an unspoken code of conduct where certain actions are deemed acceptable, while others not so much. a recent survey from yougov finds that 90% of people agree the two most unacceptable behaviors are someone refusing to pay for a dish they did not like, but ate anyway, letting children roam freely around the restaurant. others include snapping fingers to get the waiter's attention. hey you, come over here and staying past the restaurant's closing time, we want some viewer reaction this morning. we're asking which behavior is your biggest pet peeve at restaurants? your options? refusing to pay for a dish, children roaming freely, snapping fingers at staff, staying past the closing time. you can scan that qr code you see right there at the top right of your screen. or you can just go to ktvu .com/ vote, are you happy to say i never do any of those? >> how are you going to refuse to pay for a dish you ate right? >> i'd be like, well, you ate
9:14 am
it. >> you ate it. yeah. you should have told them way earlier that i don't want to eat it. >> that just seems crazy to me. >> like the two bite rule, right? >> yeah. yeah, exactly. but you're trying to get like, oh, you're trying to eat it. that means you're trying to. it seems like you might be scamming if you're eating the whole plate. if it wasn't that good. yeah, you know, i ate that. but you know, i didn't like it. >> in retrospect, i don't like sending, and i don't know, i can't remember the last time i did, but unless, like, i'm allergic to sesame seeds and unless the dish has surprise sesame seeds on it, i won't send it back. like i've eaten things that are overcooked and undercooked and not exactly. but i'm like, well, you know, you just kind of note it up here, but i just can't. it's like you're wasting the whole because it goes in the trash. >> and lots of times if you say something, it's like, you know, blah, blah, blah, you know, you don't nothing about pay. i would pay for it and say, you know, this didn't come out. if you just say something, they will, they will do something, fix it, fix it. yeah. but i never expect it. right never expect. >> we'll keep taking your responses and checking in throughout the morning. coming up, the interest rates stuck a lot higher than most people would like. next year on the

especially since the federal raid on his homes. but did his home and fame cannot be understated here. during the 90s, he represented major recording artists, among them notorious b.i.g. widely considered one of the greatest gangsta rappers of all time, diddy also represented performers like usher, mariah carey and aretha franklin. and that's what makes what's happening now such a bombshell. well, a new explosive documentary is shaking up the music industry. it's called tmz presents the downfall of diddy. it's streaming now on tubi, and the man behind it, tmz's harvey levin, is here to tell us what it discovered about the federal accusations surrounding diddy and other information as well. harvey, thank you so much for joining us this morning. >> good to talk to you, andre. >> all right, harvey, the raid on on sean combs homes were connected to a federal human trafficking investigation. and there is also other legal issues with them. sexual abuse lawsuits describe how the documentary approaches these recent charges against combs. >> well, look, we get into them. we also explain where the feds are because, remember, the feds
9:19 am
did get a search warrant, which means that a judge found there was probable cause, a crime was committed. and that's a big deal. but, actually filing charges for sex trafficking, for example, what they're going to have to do is not only show that he was involved in transport, putting people across state lines for sexual purposes, but there has to be an element of force or coercion or some kind of pressure. so they're going to have to prove that to before they file charges. if they do. so that all said, we get into not just what's going on currently, andre. the fact is there were whispers and even talk about what was going on with diddy for years, years. and, you know, one of the people we talk with is aubrey o'day, who was in danity kane fired by diddy and she gets into what she calls his abuse by him. also why she was trying to give her her publishing rights back, which she says was a total ruse to
9:20 am
keep people quiet because he knew cassie was about to file a lawsuit. and then we get, you know, i got to tell you, i talked to suge knight, who i thought would just rail on on diddy and almost celebrate what's going on with him. and it was almost the opposite. and remember, i mean, this was east coast. west coast. >> yeah. this is a rival situation. east coast, west coast situation. so that's kind of that's very surprising to hear that i was shocked i was absolutely shocked. >> we talked to him from prison. and we have a lot of people, stevie j lots of other people in diddy's life, and i think you're going to get a really well rounded picture and, and not just people who are going after diddy, but people who were supporting diddy. i think you're going to get a really well rounded picture on what's going on. but bottom line is what's going on is that he is at least reputationally crumbling. >> yeah. let's talk about that a little bit. and the support diddy is wrapped up in celebrity
9:21 am
circles. well known figures. you were able to talk with people at that that, you know, that are able to give you some insight into this, but is there anyone out there really supporting him, among amid these charges and they're not really charges. nothing has really been filed against them. he's that lawsuits filed against him and the feds haven't filed any charges, even though they raided his home. but the cloud of suspicion now hangs over him. what are people what are people saying about that? >> ricketts ricketts it is radio silent in hollywood, and there are a couple of reasons for it. and we get into it, one reason is, and this is a big reason, it has come out now that diddy had cameras everywhere, and he had these big parties with every celebrity you could possibly think of, and they were all partying with this guy and some, some of the allegations involve parties and there may be people scared either because they were allegedly involved in some of this, or they were just around
9:22 am
and they don't want to be painted with that brush. but hollywood has run from this. you know, we have seen lots of people from hollywood beating their chest and canceling people , you know, with just one allegation that's untested. but here they are just saying that's not surprising. that's nothing very surprising. >> and mark curry, rapper mark curry told you that. did he had cameras in his house. and those cameras may have caught things. we only have a few seconds left. but can you give us a little insight into that? >> yeah. i mean, he's saying that the house was just wired with cameras, so it's not just at parties, but the homes were wired. so that's one of the reasons people are i think, just running for the hills. yeah, again, it is streaming on tubi right now, and it is really an interesting kind of 360. look at what's going on with him. >> yeah, a lot of people were surprised that the documentary came out so fast, but but you have to remember, there were accusations that go back many, many years against diddy. and it sounds like you explore that in
9:23 am
this documentary, harvey, thank you so much for joining us today. i hope people go out and watch this. maybe they can get some insight, especially, you know, fans from the 90s. i grew up in the 90s and listened to a lot of his artists, biggie. i was east coast, so i know very well. and so did many other people across the country. so this is really shocking. thank you harvey. appreciate it, watch tmz presents the downfall of diddy. it's streaming right now on tubi, the free streaming service owned by our parent company. it features firsthand accounts from some prominent figures associated with the bad boy records founder. we got stevie, stevie, jay, mark curry, even suge knight talking about it. you can go on and watch it right now. we're coming up on mornings on two and nine high tech cameras, leading to arrests and recovered stolen vehicles. how license plate readers are helping police in one east bay city. then. devastating news for some elite members of an east bay high school swim team. why they won't be able to swim in the fi meet

is near cherokee avenue and 98th avenue, just about a half a block away from bishop o'dowd high school. the good news is that no one, as far as we know, there are no reports of anyone hurt or injured in the shooting or the crash, but you can see the aftermath here behind us, right behind this oakland police patrol car, you see an suv flipped on its side. this is where around 745 this morning, the woman driving that suv and her 13 year old daughter were heading to francophone charter school, which is a couple blocks up cherokee. when a black sedan speeding down the road crashed right into them, flipping their suv on its side. the driver and neighbors told us that they could hear a barrage of gunfire before and after this crash. one neighbor said. it was at least two dozen shots fired. again, this was around 745 in the morning. luckily, the mother and daughter were not struck and they were not hurt in this crash. both were able to climb out of the roof of their suv and walk away, and we spoke with the father of the 13 year old girl involved in the crash. he rushed

were drugs and other things in the car. in the vehicle? it caught one of those criminals that basically shouldn't have been doing what they've been doing. >> the data comes as more bay area cities are interested in this technology. city leaders in oakland and berkeley approved their use last year, and earlier this year, governor newsom announced a plan to install 480 license plate reader cameras across the east bay. >> now to a developing story. as hundreds of law enforcement officers moved into the ucla campus in the early morning hours to clear an encampment of pro-palestinian protesters. starting around 3 a.m, police fired tear gas, rubber bullets and flashbang grenades at the barricaded protesters law enforcement from across southern california moved in, tore down barricades and detained hundreds of people. there are still some protests on campus this morning, but away from that main encampment, they are subject to two arrests as well, because that dispersal order is still in effect and they are are not obeying that. >> i'm sure chp officers are over there trying to, resolute this as, as quickly and

to spend their may day demanding a cease fire and lifting up the voices of palestinian workers. >> whatever it takes, so that gazans, palestinians in general, can go back to their whatever peaceful lives they had before. >> speakers from dozens of nonprofit groups attended yesterday's rally and called for a cease fire in gaza and an end to u.s. military aid. >> the federal reserve is keeping interest rates the same. people nationwide have been hoping for rate cuts, which would translate into lower borrowing rates for mortgages, car loans and credit cards. at one point, traders were hoping for up to six rate cuts in the year 2024. now, investors are expecting just one in later this year. there might not be any at all because inflation is too high. for more insight, let's go to jason matthews from matthews financial insurance solutions. jason, welcome. we were just talking off the air how i feel lucky i got a mortgage rate at 2.5% which will never see again.
9:38 am
>> never ever. right. that's the last time we were going to see in our lifetime, in this period right now of higher interest rates. and we look like we might have it for a little bit longer. >> so, you know, since they're not going to be lowering rates, what can people do to basically hedge against everything is a, you know, basically everything you borrow for is going to be higher. yeah >> so right now you're seeing credit card payments, credit cards, interest rates went up, car interest rates went up. so there's a couple of things i'd say when it comes to credit cards. the first thing i would tell people, especially if you have a hard time, is call your credit card company, see if you can work out something. credit card companies right now don't want to take losses on their books because you can't pay your credit card. so they're often times we're seeing them work with you. a second thing you will do at that point is just look at your savings and see if you can maximize that. so if you're at the bank and your bank is giving you 0% or 1, look at others safe fixed assets, you can put it in maybe another bank might give give you a higher
9:39 am
rate of 5% at a cd or or a treasuries or somewhere else that you might have a higher interest rate on your money right now as well. >> what did people say about, okay, look, i have a pretty good loan on a house, right now. i don't want to do anything, but can i still, if i were to refinance it, i would lose that. could you get equity out of the house some other way? >> right. so the way you can take, take advantage of that and say, hey, i got this great amount of equity. i want to take advantage of it is look at doing a heloc loan, right? or taking out a second where you see that more and more of a trend right now, where you get that new loan for that new balance, but you still have that old rate. so if you take out 100,000, that new rate, that higher rate is just on that 100,000. while you still have that mortgage payment from that old payment, compared to combining both of those and just paying a hot, a hot lot higher interest rate than your old rate that you had a couple of years ago, the federal government or the policymakers say they don't want to lower rates because that would increase the money supply and inflation would get even worse. >> so americans seem to be, you know, on one side, they want
9:40 am
lower rates, but they don't want more inflation. we're kind of stuck in a spot here. >> exactly right. that's the fine balancing that we're seeing. the feds do, because right now they're saying a lot of the middle class and lower class is very hurting right now. right. because we've seen these high interest rates. but at the same time, they made certain parts of the market for us, like the real estate market, be really frozen because high rates were just making housing for a younger generation unaffordable at this time. so so okay, you talked about housing and i think a lot of people and i think i've heard you say this, if you find a house that you like, you cannot wait for rates to come down. >> you have to get the house and then hope that later on you can refi. is that is that correct? >> find a house you can afford and pray that one day you can refinance at a lower rate. now when that lower rate will be, we will not see. we're going to be like with jerome powell saying we will are in a period of wait and see. right now when you will be able to refinance, is there a scenario where you're likely to see rates come down? >> for example, even if we don't want this, a recession down or a
9:41 am
steep downturn? >> so yesterday during the call or during the meeting yesterday, jerome powell, the head of the federal reserve, says he's looking for two things price stabilization. as long as full employment, if we get price stabilization down to the target at 2, that's at that point. we could see interest rates drop at that point in time. right. or the second one historically is if we're in a recession, but based off the data data right now, we're seeing that the economy is still growing. now it's not growing as much as it was last year, but it's still positive and growing at this period of time. >> i say data to jason. don't worry about it. it's not data. andrew says. data bothers me. all right. jason matthews from matthews financial solutions, thanks again for joining us. thank you for having me. all right. coming up on mornings on two, the nine with tens of thousands of job cuts nationwide, many are feeling the pinch. we'll talk live with an expert about how you can market yourself and boost your resume to stand out in the competitive

9:47 am
underselling our achievements. we're not taking enough credit for the work and the achievements that we've done. so when you're doing a resume bullet audit, you want to see four things in each bullet the level of responsibility that you had, the scope of work, the methods and the skill sets that you deployed, and finally the impact and the results. so it's usually missing is that second and fourth piece, the scope of the work and the impact and the results. that's what companies want to see. what did we actually achieve here. so any metrics that you can include are super key. so that's one important piece. >> is the actual wording important? i've seen you know suggested like don't say responsible for managing x say managed x 100. >> yeah we call that dynamic verbs. in recruiting. you want to kick off every bullet with a dynamic verb. something like built, created, led, forecasted, resourced. and if you didn't you know you could say coordinated facilitated. but it's important to take credit for where credit is due. so if you own something, use that dynamic verb. >> are you seeing any resumes? cross your desk where you think, oh gosh, no, we don't do that.
9:48 am
what are some of the biggest blunders you've seen and have helped remedy a big blunder is to have up top on your resume instead of a professional summary or an about me section, an objective statement and that looks really outdated. >> so we don't want to have an objective statement. another big mistake right now is not having a resume headline. so a headline is a couple of keywords that go right underneath your name at the top that really simplify and break down your superpowers into a couple of powerful keywords. and that's something that gets the recruiter excited to continue reading. >> i remember a long time ago, back when we had resumes on paper, someone said, your resume is one piece of paper. we do not need references. we don't need a whole. you know, is that i mean, is shorter really better? >> shorter is better. if you have ten plus years of experience, you're going to have two plus pages. you don't need your references. the company will ask for those so that that just lengthens your resume unnecessarily. you don't need to include that. >> are we still doing cover letters? >> cover letters if required by the company, it's a great opportunity to showcase your superpowers and your
9:49 am
personality, and really illustrate how you can make an impact right out of the gate. so i think a cover letter is a really good opportunity to do that and to set yourself apart, i see people online saying, i applied to 500 jobs today. this idea of just, you know, i have one resume and i send it out into the void. i does that ever get good results? >> it doesn't typically. i think it's a waste of energy. the better approach is to tailor your resume for the role that you want. and if you have trouble doing that, work with a career coach to really tailor your resume to your superpowers and to your desired role, rather than, you know, throwing a bunch of spaghetti at the wall and seeing what sticks, i recommend tailoring that cover letter. tailor that resume for your role and do a more tailored approach. because if you're just throwing your resume out there, you're not going to hear back from the void. >> do you have any success stories you can share? do you have any one who did something amazing or something you've never even seen before, and landed a great job that you can share? >> yeah, i mean, i have a ton of those, one of my clients recently pivoted from one
9:50 am
industry into another, and the way that we did that successfully was by not trying to hide the fact that they were making a career pivot, but actually by leaning into their differentiated skill sets and saying, this is why my unique background actually makes me a perfect fit for this new career path. and by doing that, we really told a really powerful story. and so they actually ended up going from education into the tech atmosphere and learning and development just by us strategically positioning them in their skill sets on this resume. >> and finally, i've been without a job but looking for a job, and i felt shame. this is 20 plus years ago. is there still that feeling of shame associated with being unemployed and looking? >> i think sometimes there is, and i think it's getting better and better with gen z kind of at the forefront of really just saying, like, you know, there is no reason for this because so many of us are in the exact same boat. so when it's so many of us having this challenge at the same time, there's empathy and there's power in the collective. so i think as long as we're talking about it, it makes that that burden and that shame so
