track breaking news that is now in the north bay. the chp tells us both lanes both directions of interstate 80 are closed in fairfield. >> because of a standoff with potentially armed suspect. officials say that suspect was involved in a shooting on one around 11 o'clock this morning, a shot into an suv. nobody was hit.

>> citizen app video showing the scene just a little while ago. this apparently started, as we mentioned on southbound lanes of highway 101, near windsor. the car was spotted around 2 o'clock this afternoon by officers rohnert park shopping plaza a shortly after 3 o'clock. and that is when the chase began. and the chase went down. 101 on the highway. 37 towards the east bay. but police say the suspect then. >> did a u-turn. i'm 37 and they got back on the 101 heading south. eventually across the bay via the richmond, sandra fell bridge. the suspect then led officers eastbound on 80 towards fairfield, which is where the standoff that is currently taking place began. the chp has issued a severe traffic alert due to the standoff there on interstate 80 near 6.80, in fairfield again, all both directions of interstate

80 are currently blocked. right? if you don't need to be going that direction tonight, obviously it is friday evening. folks might be trying to get through 80 at this point. but >> for the foreseeable if you are going to be significantly delayed through that area, drivers are advised to expect those delays use any alternate routes. you can. there is no estimated time for reopening this roadway. of course, we do have a crew trying to get there. that's a little difficult with all the lanes being closed. but we will, of course, continue to update you as we learn more information. now to a story you will only see on kron for a store owner in the east bay is sharing frightening encounter when her employee was robbed at gunpoint and it wasn't the first time a conference. theresa stasi explains why the owner decided to speak up this time around. >> the anger he should and in this video from wednesday morning. you can see a suspect pull out a gun and pointed at

an employee that employee works at one key supermarket in oakland's chinatown. the owner, shirley liu says robberies have happened here before, but this time the suspect took a lot of cash. several $1000. liu says that it is just too important now to stay quiet. almost every day, area maybe sometimes over sometimes the >> another weighty, some seem pop. and she says when she opened her business 9 years ago, the neighborhood was safe. >> try prob every phase, something pop coming in morning. she says business has suffered customers are too worried to come to her i don't want to coming >> because some thank yous who says that employee was heading out to get fresh items in san francisco for the store when the man with the gun surprised him. >> she says police took a report, but she says much more must be done to protect chinatown. >> get call on. the fun

authorities. no problem, but not these. so then >> she says chinatown needs foot patrols in the early morning. specifically employees go to run errands. she alpo says that the community deserves more arrests and prosecution of those committing the crimes and in danger the public. the easiest. they use the gun. >> so then just >> kron. 4 news reached out to the local police department. they say that they have an active and open investigation into this case. terry says stasio kron 4 news. >> in daly loss prevention officer was pushed while trying to keep people from running off with some merchandise from inside the store. according to police officers responded last month to the sarah monte shopping center's tj maxx. they say the loss prevention officers stood in front of the exit to try and stop 3 people from getting away. that's one of the suspects pushed him until they were all able to get past.

according to police, they only got away with 2 purses. they were caught while stealing from another store. the richmond, san pablo, cinco de mayo parade scheduled for tomorrow has been postponed because of rain in the forecast. >> they say don't worry the festival on sunday. we'll still go on as planned. the parade, by the way, will be postponed until september. now to give us a closer look at what is expected this weekend and why people are canceling things. here's yeah, for good reason to this storm coming through. not your a storm. this could be a real soaker dropping into the bay area outside right now begun to see some of the changes. we have some fog along the coastline in the morning. then it cleared out. now that fog starting to ramp back up again in response that approaching storm system. we'll see more of that started to spread inside the bay clouding up overnight. tonight. the breeze will begin to pick up going to move out of the south as we head toward the early tomorrow morning. and that storm going

to come roaring through in the morning part of the day as we're going to see late season storm. very interesting rolling in right now. you can see well to our north, the storm system begin to track in that direction and making its way in the pacific northwest, but won't be long. that's going to drop south overnight tonight and bring that rain so here's what we expect as we head in toward tomorrow morning. that storm dropping in not only bringing rain here, but lots of snow in the high country. even the threat of maybe some thunderstorms in the afternoon. but you'll see right here on the forecast model as we head through the night tonight, that fog rolls in. first. and then here come the storm clouds tomorrow morning. it's just after 07:00am you see the heavy rainfall moving into parts of the north bay, then spreading south as we head through the morning. 8 o'clock in the morning. the rain begins to pick up in the central bay and then we head toward 9 o'clock. heavy rain showing up around the bay area tomorrow morning with some gusty winds by 10. you start to see the back side a little bit in the north bay. and then as we head toward the afternoon tomorrow, really things start to clear, least to the north south bay, still seeing lots of rain by noon

and then late in the day things start to clear out as we head in towards sunday return to some dry weather. but that's going to be a good storm. some places more than an inch of rain tomorrow alone. guys, back to you. >> it's been more than a week since this now viral altercation was caught on camera during an interview with kron four's san jose mayor matt mahan disrupted by a random person on the street. all ended out brawl between the man and the mayor's security detail today for the first time since the fight we sat down with mayor mahan to hear his reaction to what happened. >> well, yeah, it was a threatening situation. yeah. i trying to do an interview with a kron 4 reporter and was repeatedly interrupted and when we tried to ask the individual to continue the interview, things very turned violent in any given time. >> senate.

>> essentially, you know, this individual what back and forth along the street and interrupted the interview a few times, which is which was shocking, frankly. and it was certainly not not a great situation. and what i saw from our security detail was himself identified himself as a police officer verbally ask in the individual to step back a couple feet because he was very close to and then he will. my security detail was assaulted multiple times. he did everything in his power to de-escalate first verbally and then physically despite being repeatedly assaulted. it was it was a jarring situation. i hope this other individual gets the help that he needs. and i'm i'm grateful to my security detail and look, i'm cognizant of the fact i privilege to have an armed guard with me when i'm out in you know, carrying out my duties as and there's an

investigation and they'll be more details that i'm sure our department will release once that independent investigations. don, there were multiple. >> eyewitnesses you know what was frustrating to be interrupted? i certainly didn't think that asking the individual to allow me to continue the interview would provoke a violent reaction. >> that man wesley pollard has been charged with battery, disturbing the peace and threatening a police officer. he's currently out on bail. his next day in court is set for july. >> 4 people have been arrested and thousands of dollars worth of stolen property have been recovered on wednesday, san francisco police responded to reports of a car burglary in the area of steiner and grove streets near alamo square. police tracked down the car with 4 people inside. after a brief chase, all 4 men were arrested. officers found that gun and thousands of dollars worth of stolen property the men face charges including burglary. kerry concealed gun and carrying a loaded gun with

the intention of committing a felony. attorney general rob bonta has announced a multi-million dollar settlement with and neil pharmaceuticals for their role in the country's opioid epidemic. the pharmaceutical company will be expected to provide nearly 3 million dollars worth of opioid overdose reversal products to states and local communities. states that do not accept the medication will receive cash instead of the products. >> may is asian american native hawaiian pacific islander heritage month. a new study released looks at the impacts of leadership on young asian women and identifying youth. it's called why we lead more than 2000 students participated in this on kron. 4 news at to simon, marion co-ceo of girls leadership who led the study joined us. she says she learned culture and lived experience impacted. the participants definition of

change in temperatures where we go from above normal to well below the average of fact and maybe even cold in some parts of the bay area out ther . right now. you've got cloudy skies out at sfo. the wind is blowing a bit. the fog moving back in and we do have some delays at sfo, not because of weather, but the construction out there on the runway. 73 minutes over now or delays are on departing flights. no delays being reported that oakland or san jose are looking good. high country been watching this winter storm warnings now up across the sierra nevada. this may be the last winter storm warning of the season as it's getting very, very late. see the snow, but a heavy snow event is on the way. in fact, what a pretty impressive watching these models paint that snow in there and how about that? you're talking about a foot, maybe a foot and a half. maybe 2 feet across the highest peaks even to our lake county could see some snow as that storm system drops through, ok, monterey bay, go well, you get some rain there. if you're headed that direction, look at the temperatures. 50 degrees, carmel by the sea. 51 in moderate for the south southern california. not deal with the rain just yet, but

some fairly cool temperatures. 59 long beach 59 of inter 66 mild in los angeles and the high country. a whole lot of snow, especially toward the afternoon. temperatures hovering in the 40's. but those numbers going to go way down as we head in towards sunday as temperatures going to be only in the 30's by the afternoon. so big change coming our way. the temperatures really going to take a hit tomorrow. look at the numbers that rain moves in the morning. turning to some scattered showers, partial clearing in the afternoon. only mid 50's in the san francisco along the coastline. probably low to mid 50's and breezy out there along the coast inside the bay. not a whole lot warmer or cooler temperatures all the way along. so these places that were up in the 70's and the 80's last few days, really the better part of the week. noe you look at these temperatures hovering in the 50's for highs tomorrow with the rain in the morning. tapering off by the afternoon. but it's going to be a stormy day around the bay area. no getting around that. and warmest temperature we see is maybe about 60 degrees. and that is about it. so all that being said the next couple days, here we go. rainy saturday. we taper things off
