what's happening is you get that win gradient. but also the high pressure is building up and it's allowing us to warm up, at least for now. there is another low pressure system and that will ultimately knock temperatures down. but today, tomorrow, friday, look out for days like this where you can see san francisco right now at 66 degrees. we're just a 57 out half moon bay. but look at how many 70's we already have today. san jose livermore concord and santa rosa. all in those low 70's oakland at about 68 degrees. so where are we going today? we're going to get pretty warm. and yes, it does look like we could get up to that 70 degree mark. even in san francisco, you can see the only place really staying cool today is out at the coast or they'll have that onshore flow but inland, we're going to go above where we were yesterday. we're looking at temperatures in the upper 70's, even low so this is well above average, obviously. so i talked about the fact that we're going to knock those temperatures down once we hit the weekend. and the reason for that is simply because that high pressure breaks down and that allows a cold front to track in atd ahead of that
12:19 pm
front will come some showers. so they'll be late friday. we'll start to see the clouds roll in friday evening, but late friday into saturday, 1st half of saturday, at least that's where to get some showers. you can see a little sierra snow slated to show up as well as we start a brand new month now. how much rain are we talking about between about a quarter of an inch and a half an inch? you can see some higher totals up in spots like your rico where can get, you know, quite a bit of rain there. but for most of california, this will be beneficial rain. and that is a good thing this time of year. we'll take it as we head towards our summer season. back to you. >> thank you. we're learning more now, but wet may have caused the death of a gray whale that washed up off the coast of alameda. the california academy of sciences says it may have been hit by a boat. the 40 foot whale was found on crown beach last month. they say the official cause of the whale's death could not be fully determined due to its decomposed state. a historic step towards easing marijuana restrictions. the dea proposed reclassifying cannabis from a scheduled one
