how to take into the microphone after meeting with jewish students! let's listen live on the columbia campus. >> thank you all for being here today. we have several members of congress here and we are here today at one of america's academic institutions on a very important day, very important time. throughout history columbia students have contributed to the great storybook of america's life, visionary and megan leaders like alexander hamilton, john jay, the jewish leader, new that is self-evident truths that was at the heart of this cou country, and once at the whole of this university and that is that we are downed by our creator with certain and if it will right, they should not be infringed. the founders and the great leaders that have come to this institution in the past believed in religious liberty. they believed in democracy, they believed in morality and virtue,

by some counts as many as 200 universities have a similar form of protest right now. at el, jewish student was stabbed in the eye with the palestinian flag and 45 students were arrested? at nyu, pro hamas protesters were shouting from the river to the sea. anti- israel encampments are popping up at universities all across this country. the madness has to stop. the madness has to stop. we just after meeting with jewish students who told us of the heinous act of bigotry that they have experienced simply because of their faith. their bravery is inspiring. much more inspiring than some of the activities racing here. they should never have to confront such hate on an american pop -- college campus, such a revered institution. anti-semitism has been growing in america and it is clear why, powerful people have refused to condemn it, and some have even peddled it themselves black from

1:14 pm
i went to israel a month after the attack on october 7th and i watched a 21 minute unedited video, raw footage of the at attack, i watched exactly what hamas did and sadly, sadly here in america, we have students endorsing the butchering and brutality of a terrorist organization in. if you want a cease-fire, the fastest way for a cease-fire to occur is for hamas to surrender and to release the hostages. if you cannot call for that, you are a pathetic embarrassment to this institution, into students everywhere. it is time for presidents for magnitude resign in disgrace, she has lost control of this campus, she has lost control of this institution, and after listening to her comments inside it is clear that she has no intention of getting this

's who won my attention is to call president biden after we leave here and share with him what we are seeing with our own two eyes and demand he take action. there's exec of authority to be appropriate, of this is not contained quickly and of these threats and intimidation are not stopped there is an appropriate time for the national guard. we have to bring ordered to this campus, we cannot allow this to happen around the country. we are better than this and i'll ask the president to do that and i will tell him the same thing you and what is the house going

this movement. does not antiwar or pro- humanitarian, you cannot call for a cease-fire and cheer on hamas rockets in the same breath. it is outstandingly hypocritical and that is what we have been seeing on campus. my friends had flags ripped out of their hands and burned, they have been attacked, they have been physically hit and shoved, they have been followed off of campus and stocks, people through fake blood as some of my friends, through water at others, these are jewish students simply trying to be on campus that they worked so hard to get to and paid so much money to attend. it is ridiculous. >> sandra: now cancels -- it now classes canceled in prison for the rest of the semester. i will let you go, your so strong to be speaking out about this and coming on tv talking about exactly what it ain't detail is happening to you and other students on campus. are you going to continue on there? >> sorry do you mind repeating the last part of the question?
1:28 pm
>> sandra: are you going to continue on there at columbia? >> that is my plan as of now. as difficult as it is and as much as we have been bullied, intimidated, harassed and assaulted, we refuse to give into the mob the same way our leaders have. we worked incredibly hard to get here and it is our campus as much as that is everybody else's, jewish students will be intimidated and we will not be driven off of our campus. freedom of speech is an incredibly fundamental aspect of our american democracy and as a daughter of immigrants i appreciate that more than anyone. but what we are seeing right now is not free speech because free speech does not include freedom to harass and intimidate and it does not include freedom to infringe on the free speech of others so we will continue to stand strong and to be proud american jews at columbia and we will not be driven off of our campus were silenced the way that our university leaders have been.
